Looking Back: Bowling Photos

I started doing photography back in 2013, when I first bought a used Canon Rebel T3i from a coworker. I wanted to use it for macro photography, but since the timing wasn't great (got the camera in the winter when no bugs are out), I had to find another subject to practice on. Fursuiters wound up being perfect: they have a wide variety of colors, they come in different shapes and sizes, and they never sit still. Not long after I purchased the camera, I moved across the country, and it's from my new(ish) home that I share these photos. Here I'm posting some of my favorite shots and comparing them to see how my photography has (or hasn't) improved over the past few years.

These photos are all taken at a bowling alley in Pittsburgh, PA. Bowling alleys all tend to have the same lighting: poor. Despite the lighting and the garish colors of the walls being the same, tuning the camera settings and capturing good photos remains a constant struggle.
